Jeff Carter is worth it,trust me.

Just a quick note on the Jeff Carter signing and a note about the Flyers and Eagles.

Say what you will but Jeff Carter can and will score 50 goals someday and I would rather him be on my team when it happens. His contract is basically a $270,000 raise for the next 11 years. No brainer in my book. His deal makes the Kovalchuk signing look even worse.Ville Leino will be next to get an extension. The Flyers are rolling right now and look be heading back to the Finals. Too bad its only November. They play Monday at 7 against Ottawa.

The Eagles have a big Monday night game against the Skins, with a win they will share first place with the NY football Giants who lost to the awful, pathetic Cowboys today. That would setup an even bigger Sunday night game for first place next week at the Linc.I think the Birds avenge the loss earlier this season to Washington and come out on top, 24-17.

Until next time, i'm going to bed.

Time to catch up

It's been quite a while since I blogged,so i'll do a quick summery for the people who actually read this: The Phils DIDN'T win the World Series because they forgot how to hit, the Eagles are winning with Mike Vick at QB and the Flyers lost in the Stanley Cup finals and are having a great start to this season. They have a young rookie goalie named Sergei Bobrovsky, who is on his way to the Calder if he keeps winning games like he has so far.

Tonight the destroyed the Carolina Hurricanes 8-1 and looked really good doing it. They are playing great hockey right now and even though its a long season, they look like they could go far in the postseason if they stay healthy.
The Flyers extending Claude Giroux for 3 more years is a great signing by Homer. He is a star in the making and just has "it". His vision and hockey sense are amazing and he just keeps geting better. Jeff Carter is next on the list for an extension, word is it could be a long term(10 years) deal, basically making him a Flyer for life. Keeping Leino would be the next free agent to be I would want to sign, but I'm not sure they can fit all these guys under the cap. We shall see.

The Flyers next game is Saturday night at 7pm in South Philly.

Until,next time, good night,good hockey.

P.S. 25 years ago, my first sports hero died. Pelle Lindburgh died in a car crash and I prayed that a miracle would happen and he would wake up. I cried that night and I will never forget Pelle. I still get upset when I think of his passing, but he was a bright light who shone brightly but far too short for my liking. #31 will always be in my heart.
